Former ORNETTE COLEMAN trumpeter DON CHERRY assembled a quartet with the often volcanic tenor saxophonist PHAROAH SANDERS, bassist HENRY GRIMES and drummer ED BLACKWELL for his third and final Blue Note album, recorded just two months after “Symphony For Improvisers.” They dive into five of the trumpeter’s delightful, quirky compositions.
