Beginning as an esoteric diary of one man’s adventure through uncharted territory, polyrhythmic delay shifts and lo fi grindhouse charm transform into a haunting psychedelic soundtrack of Muslimgauze proportions. Loops of African Juju Witchcraft Dance, Chants from India, and Exotic Percussion record grooves swirl together to become Bufo Alvarious, named after the psychedelic properties of the Sonoran Desert toad. By turns comforting and daunting, this album by Swim Ignorant Fire veers from a warm sanctuary of light to a dense fog of hostile territory. You won’t return the same.
