Given that the band - completed by drummer Zack Mykula, bassist Nestor Chumak and guitarist Steve Sladkowski - played over 450 shows in the last two years in support of it's self-titled debut, it's perhaps not surprising that it happened. But while PUP had to end 2015 by canceling it's last couple of shows, by announcing The Dream Is Over the way they did - onstage at a sold -out show in Brooklyn - the Toronto four -piece proved that the exact opposite is true. The Dream Is Over is visible, visceral proof that the dream is still alive. X-Ray Spex released their debut album, \"Germfree Adolescents,\" in 1978, featuring the title track, \"Germfree Adolescents.\" The album is considered a classic of the punk era. Poly Styrene's lyrics often addressed social and consumerist issues, and her unconventional fashion sense and energetic stage presence added to the band's overall identity. While X-Ray Spex had a relatively short-lived career, disbanding in 1979, they left a lasting impact on the punk scene, and their music continues to be celebrated for its originality and influence. Poly Styrene sadly passed away in 2011, but her contributions to punk rock remain influential. This Limited-Edition re-issue of Germfree Adolescents is pressed on black 180-gram vinyl. In November of the same year, and again from the October 1977 sessions came another two song lesson in how it’s done, or undone, with easily one of the greatest A sides of all time: ‘Human Fly.’ The B side was held hostage by “Domino,” originally sung by Roy Orbison. The Cramps’ version swaggers with infinite confidence and is an absolute thrill to listen to. In the summer of 1979, young degenerates in England were treated to a 12-inch by the Cramps called Gravest Hits, which featured not only the aforementioned four tracks, but also a fifth, again from the October 1977 sessions... Featuring the singles 'Allison' (a tribute to jazz and blues pianist Mose Allison), 'Dig For Fire' and 'Velouria', plus the first cover to feature on one of their albums 'Cecilia Ann' (originally by The Surftones), Bossanova showed a less primal side to the band, with surf and space rock rising to the fore.
