To fans of alternative country and melodic songwriting, the name GARY LOURIS is an important one. As founding member of the JAYHAWKS and intermittent member of Minneapolis-collective, GOLDEN SMOG, the vocalist, guitarist and songwriter eventually was responsible for moving The JAYHAWKS from folk-country towards a more progressive, pop sound. In 2008, LOURIS released his first solo album, "Vagabonds," on Rykodisc. The album was produced by BLACK CROWERS front man CHRIS ROBINSON and was recorded in Laurel Canyon; famous for being the epicenter of the 1970s singer-songwriter scene. ROG is expanding the original album to include acoustic, demos and outtakes from the sessions with many tracks making their debut to vinyl as well as several never having been released on any physical format. The 2LP set will be pressed on 180g vinyl, sourced from the original masters with lacquers cut at Sam Phillips Recording Studio and come in a beautiful gatefold tip-on Stoughton jacket.
