Recorded in 1968, Introducing Kenny Cox and the Contemporary Jazz Quintet was the debut album by this under-recognized Detroit band, led by pianist Kenny Cox and featured trumpeter Charles Moore, tenor saxophonist Leon Henderson, bassist Ron Brooks, and drummer Danny Spencer. Blue Note Classic Vinyl Series is all-analog, mastered by Kevin Gray from the original master tapes.
