Shannon was still 17, so we had to wait until her eighteenth birthday to \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003esign the contract. Their introduction to the world was a feature on an El Michels \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAffair track \"Strange Boy\" and it did not take long for them to catch on from \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethere. Next was the B side of that El Michels Affair 45 \"No Surprise\" and the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003emomentum kept going for them. We followed up with their self titled debut EP \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eand that's when things started to move faster. The Shacks got invited to tour the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eUS and Europe with Chicano Batman and Khruangbin. It was during one of those \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eruns that the Apple ad happened. Their cover of \"This Strange Effect\" got placed \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ein a global ad campaign and the director insisted that Shannon star in the spot. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThat ad ran on every major TV network in the US, playing during the Superbowl, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSNL, and every other high prole thing airing during that time. Then they rolled it \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eout across the globe amassing something to the tune of a billion views. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eWe released their highly anticipated rst full length Haze in 2018 and they were \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003etouring all over the country and Europe promoting the record and riding the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewave of success from accolade to accolade. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eAs fate would have it though, before the next album was nished, things fell \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eapart for the band. Choosing to part ways in 2020 for good, Shannon and Max set \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eout on different paths to pursue separate careers and leave The Shacks behind. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eDuring the heyday for them when they were not on the road they were recording \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eand they were very prolic in their output. A lot of those songs never saw the \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003elight of day. Here on Big Crown Vaults Vol. 2 we put some of the best of those \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eunreleased tracks and some things that never saw a vinyl pressing together for \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ethe fans to enjoy. The Shacks catalog of music is incredible and will be here \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eforever for us to enjoy.
