Albert King: Albert King was an American blues guitarist and singer, and a major influence in the world of blues guitar playing. One of the "Three Kings of the Blues Guitar" (along with B.B. King and Freddie King), he is perhaps best known for the 1967 single "Born Under a Bad Sign." Paul Butterfield: Paul Vaughn Butterfield (December 17, 1942 - May 4, 1987) was an American blues singer and harmonica player. After early training as a classical flutist, Butterfield developed an interest in blues harmonica. He explored the blues scene in his native Chicago, where he was able to meet Muddy Waters and other blues greats who provided encouragement and a chance to join in the jam sessions. In 1963, he formed the Paul Butterfield Blues Band, who recorded several successful albums and were a popular fixture on the late-1960s concert and festival circuit.
Part of Rhino's now-celebrated Side By Side 7" singles series. Two artists perform the same song. Surprising and unusual performances and repertoire. Born Under A Bad Sign is considered "a timeless staple of the blues," and has a strong crossover appeal to the rock audience with its bass and guitar harmony line and topical astrology reference.
