In order to avoid employing lazy overgeneralized catchalls like “experimental” or “grindcore”, we offer an elevated, more analogical purview: BLACK IRON PRISON is the musical equivalent to a frozen foot starting to thaw. You’ll save the the thing and it may be again useful but for now it is glass shards and raw nerves at the end of a miserable skin tube being shredded and dipped in acid. Or maybe less poetically speaking, that feeling you get when you floss your teeth for the first time in ages, the bleeding, the throbbing, the pulsing pain. Is all this headed somewhere better or is it just the first indication of everything grinding into oblivion?
