New album Notte Davvero is a surprise for Castelli's fans, and lovers of the Italic synth-pop scene. The solo project of Milanese Stefano Castelli, former frontman of the post-punk band Clone Culture, combines '80s-inspired synth-pop and new wave. In 2021, Castelli released the first EP containing the single "1984" sung with Italian new wave pioneer Garbo. In March 2023, the iconic Dutch label Bordello A Parigi released the full length Anni Venti on vinyl and in digital format. Castelli writes and arranges his songs, collaborating with Luca Urbani (Soerba, Garbo, Fluon), producer and also permanent band member with guitarist Claudio Chiodi. Castelli has shared the stage so far with artists such as Nuovo Testamento, Curses, Korine, M!R!M, Molly Nilsson, Ultra Sunn, She Past Away, Metronomy, Planet Funk, and Teatro degli Orrori, and has participated in two editions of the Miami Festival.
