The haunting swarm of voices to ’Sucking Up Souls’ and the hypnagogic groove of ‘To Feed the Moon’, both featuring the likes of Diana Rogerson, Rose McDowell, and Jhonn Balance, among others, appear here broken down for parts and reassembled like the recollection of a dream from long ago. The A-side’s vocals are reframed in a reverse looped and stereo swept vision of eeriness that we’re certain will sound even more potent when under the influence, and likewise the reverse looped drums and voices are deeply trippy in and of themselves, even more so when it starts to feel like a version of Talking Heads ‘Once in a Lifetime’ overhauled by Carl Stone. Definitely one for the C93 hardcore, but accessible to any psychonauts too. Absolutely nowt to do with flashing your arse cheeks, but can be if you want it to.
