Waters Ave S. was recorded in the summer of 1996 and originally released by Sub Pop in January of 1997. The album’s pop-tinged ballads garnered comparisons to Neil Young, and the record kicked off Damien’s career as one of indie-rock’s standout singer-songwriters. This repress offers a fresh chance to examine how far Jurado has come in the 25 years since its release, and it demonstrates how much of his point of view and vivid scenecraft was firmly in place from the very start.
