Contrast between some delicate, light, even crystalline moments in the music and some others that are gloomy, slightly heavy to give depth to the voice that seems to come to us through a cave of distortion and a vault of bulldozing. It comes out of that dark tunnel with a sore throat sanded or scratched to a grinding roughness or lack of smoothness. And the dream is not very far. Running 55 mph on a Harley into the sweet and mellow infinite horizon. And yet it opens onto some violent incident that locks him up in a flood with the captain of the cheer-leading squad. In the ensuing duet it is quite clear that we cannot distinguish the frantic fear of the one from the ranting and raving desire of the other, but who are the one and the other? And they are drowning in the flood for sure that then comes back with some violence to only wane out to wax back in in a moment. Let yourself sink in this bleak music and you might be able to learn how to swim in extreme conditions. At least if all monsters are destroyed. How can that punk be so sweet, so soft, so tender at times? Is it the taste of suicide?
