Since its founding in 2024, Spokane’s It’s A Setup has turned heads in the PNW hardcore scene with a throwback approach to both sound and substance. With influences from across the spectrum, It’s A Setup has created a unique sound, melding the chaos of powerviolence with the intensity and power of metallic hardcore. Inspired by the scene built around the Ebullition label in the 90s, and bands as wide-ranging as Dropdead, MK Ultra, and Undertow, It’s A Setup has taken a “more than music” approach with lyrics, art, and live show. Their self-titled debut is a blistering 8 song, 45 rpm full of blast beats and breakdowns.
