Capturing the band at their most immediate and raw, My Pain and Sadness Is More Sad andPainful Than Yours coined mclusky’s blend of serrated guitars, dark humour and Andrew Falkous’ pointed, often absurdist lyricism. Predating later acclaim for albums such as Mclusky Do Dallas and The Difference Between Me and You Is That I’m Not on Fire, the debut captures the band in a more unfiltered state, volatile and direct.
