Past Self- Die Cry Hate

Label: Young & Cold

Reissued 10/30/2026, Originally released 2023

Nugoth / Sadwave discovery with Korean origins, but based in Sin City (Las Vegas) / Nevada / USA. “Die Cry Hate” EP is a bold and immersive release that showcases past self’s ability to fuse haunting atmospheres with sharp post-punk energy. From the opening track Little Death, moody basslines and shimmering guitar textures set a tone of emotional vulnerability and introspection. The EP’s lyrics weave between English and Korean, enhancing the sense of longing and fragmented identity throughout the songs. The title track Die Cry Hate layers evocative imagery with intense emotional weight, revealing themes of conflict, pain, and the complexity of human connection. Tracks like “녹슨 칼” inject a goth-tinged edge that balances nocturnal synths with post-punk bite. The brief interlude ‘◯’ provides a spectral pause that deepens the EP’s dreamlike quality. ‘Between the Marquees’ expands the sonic palette into more expansive, almost cinematic territory.
