SPARES was formed in 2022 in a Portland, Oregon basement by current and former members of North Lincoln, Youth League, Lock and Key, Shores, Amusement, FeverSleep and others. Their self-titled debut EP, engineered and mixed by bassist Mike Vera, was released in February 2025. Razorcake called it "a six-song blast of dense rock with a fair amount of jagged edges... Immersive." SPARES' blistering live sets have been turning heads in Portland and across the Northwest.  Describing their sound, SPARES point to a wide range of influences. Listeners will hear echoes of 90's-era Dischord, the noise rock of early Touch & Go, as well as the angular post-hardcore of San Diego's underground scene.  Balancing beauty and grit, SPARES don't merely emulate their influences-they expand upon them. Their music is post-hardcore guitar-driven chaos, crafted for the musically restless.  Durham, NC based band Treasure Pains was formed through collaborative writing sessions with Jessi and Zach (Youth League). It gradually evolved to include close friends Kellette and Kyle (wolvesx4). The post-hardcore band produces a uniquely melancholic and aggressive sound, which is complemented by an impressively tireless force of driving energy. Their first album, Charming, was released in 2024 via Wiretap Records.  (Council Records #52)
