The Kowalskis started 1995 in NYC as "Killer Kowalski", receiving a cease-and-desist from the wrestler. A fixture of the NYC punk Coney Island High scene, their album All Hopped Up On Goofballs is a classic. Blending punk rock energy with 60s pop flair, drawing comparisons to Blondie and the Ramones, The Kowalskis sound channels a nostalgic yet fresh take on punk with power-pop sensibilities. Fronted by Kitty Kowalski, whom Kim Fowley called “Courtney Love without the damage”, they’ve shared stages with Iggy Pop, Ramones, Undertones, The Muffs, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, and so many more.
