Council Records (Schedule 1, Current, Ottawa) is proud to present an exciting new split 7-inch featuring two of the most compelling new voices in post-punk: The True Faith delivers Can't Be Sure, a four-minute anthem that balances uncertainty and hope with soaring synths and driving guitars. It’s a natural evolution for the Philadelphia-based band, following the success of their sophomore album Go to Ground and their acclaimed split 12-inch with Bleached Cross. Produced by Ryan Santos Phillips at Lux Perpetua NYC, the track calls to mind the best of post-punk pioneers like The Sound and The Chameleons, while carving out a space that’s uniquely theirs. On the other side, Demmers contributes Leave it Alone, a dark yet melodic track that blends the lush textures of Eighties post-punk with a modern, raw energy. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Cure and Soft Kill, Demmers brings a fresh intensity to the genre. The track was recorded with Ed Auletta and Matt Olsson at North End Recording Studio and mixed by John Naclerio at Nada Recording Studio, showcasing the band’s knack for creating music that feels both nostalgic and forward-thinking.
